1) LINUX FAST-START

1) Download/install THUNDERBIRD

2) install extension ENIGMAIL (
nb: adds GPG (open PGP protocol) to THUNDERBIRD (SMTP) {email)

3) LINUX / WINDOZE INSTRUCTION - CONFIGURATION
Once you have both packages installed you should have something like
"OpenPGP" along the TOP LINE of THUNDERBIRD
Click it; drop down, select find SETTINGS ...
Set the KEY-SIZE (bits) to 4096-bits BEFORE you generate the KEY PAIR (that's NOT a standard setting which is HALF that, but that's NOT half as strong crypto)).
3) TOP LINE of THUNDERBIRD click something like GENERATE KEY PAIR
Follow on-screen instructions
4) Once you have FINISHED generating a KEY PAIR
a) TOP LINE of THUNDERBIRD click something like KEY-MANAGER
b) click YOUR new key pair; RIGHT CLICK (most probably; DROP DOWN; select COPY **PUBLIC** (very important bit that PUBLIC KEY (not the PRIVATE key or BOTH keys) to CLIPBOARD or save to FILE (will be *.asc)
Off the CLIPBOARD or COPY of the .asc file OPENED IN A PLAIN TEXT EDITOR
the public key, post to SINGLE POST, per EMAIL you received
4) TROUBLESHOOTING
"do have a key manager on desk top says i have a key??followed to a T, but cannot get this Once you have both packages installed you should have something like
"OpenPGP" along the TOP LINE of THUNDERBIRD
Click it; drop down, select find SETTINGS ..."
1. FIND "openPGP" along the top
2. Click it
3. Drop the DROP DOWN MENU select "KEY MANAGEMENT"
4. from the POP UP KEY MANAGER, right click YOUR key
5 Select COPY TO CLIPBOARD.
6. POST inside this blog; ONE KEY PER POST; add your Twitter username & email (latter embedded in the key anyway ... ) as the POST TITLE *and* add as LABELS, so we can ALL find each other if we get HARDWARE TRASHED, etc; in a real hurry ;)
